Sitting at a shower for brides-this I can handle.
Behind me a "surprise" guest arrives who is still on maternity leave-this is ok.
This new mother begins to share photos and tell story, after story of her baby right behind me-this I cannot handle.
As this is going on, and on during the shower my "friend" next to me says "I really hate how people brag about their baby sleeping through the night" YEAH exactly, brag about a full night of sleep-HOW ABOUT A LABOR AND DELIVERY THAT ENDED WITH A DAUGHTER GOING HOME HEATHY!
Oh and this friend goes on to explain and illustrate how her daughter holds the bottle.
I don't know who to be more disappointed in-my friend who completely forgot what I might be feeling; or the mother who from what I thought knew loss through miscarriages and now is so beyond that part of her life that she can stand directly in front of me and talk endlessly about her fucking baby
