I am trying to not buy clothes this season
my body still needs to become what it was before pregnancy
and buying more clothes that suit me better now will not promote an ultimate goal of healthier living.
I put away M’s clothes with hands that are dry and wanting a manicure that I couldn’t get myself to sit down to have

or the memory of having a manicure while pregnant for the wedding. Larry mentioned not liking me going that day in Boston. We all joked and calmed his concern.
Surely those fumes
that cup of coffee, the massage days before
didn’t cause Violet to die.
When I cramp over to type
or turn to look
aches follow
like the phrase
I would rather wallow in my depression than exercise.
